What Is Becoming

Verðandi is the Norn for that which is becoming (the present). She waters Yggdrasil from a viking style pitcher with water drawn from the well of Urðr. Her cloak is bordered with young futhark runes spelling out “from that place, wise women came.” The cloak also features a depiction of the world tree on the back. As Urðr and Skuld look to the past and the future, Verðandi is concerned with the present moment, looking boldly at what is in front of her.
