When the Æsir first came to Asgard, a stranger arrived and offered to build a wall around it to protect them from frost giants. In payment, he asked for Freyja, the sun, and the moon. Knowing the endeavor was nearly impossible, Loki talked the gods into the deal. But, with the help of his horse, Svaðilfari, the stranger soon came close to finishing. Needing a way out of the deal, Loki was tasked with finding a solution. Transforming himself into a mare, Loki lured the jötunn's horse away ensuring the Master Builder would fail.
