Mini Myth Collection® - 2019 Year-end Exclusive - Thor's Goats
Tanngrisnir (“Snarler”) and Tanngnjóstr (“Teeth Grinder”) pulled Thor’s chariot. But these magical goats served another purpose as well; when food was scarce, Thor could eat them for dinner and resurrect them the next morning. In one tale, a boy named Thjálfi dined with Thor. Despite Thor’s warning (and at Loki’s sly urging), the boy broke one of the goat’s bones making it lame the next day. To quell Thor’s temper, the boy agreed to become Thor’s servant.
