God of archery and skiing
Ullr is the son of Sif and stepson of Thor. He is most associated with archery and skiing and is said to walk on bones, which is believed to be a reference to ice skates. “Ullr’s ship” is a kenning for a warrior’s shield which implies that Ullr used his shield as either a sled or raft. Given the many places named for him, Ullr, was clearly a prominent god though few of stories survive. The Poetic Edda tells us of one instance when Oðin was in exile and Ullr was left in charge of Asgard.
