DIRECTOR ELECTED VIS COM CHAIR We are proud to announce that Stone Soup Communications' Creative Director, Aric Liljegren, was recently elected Chairman of the Visual Communications section of The National Association for Interpretation. The section is comprised of experts in design and visual communications, and serves as a resource for association members who may not have a graphic design background, but who are occasionally charged with visual communications tasks. AWARDED INTERPRETIVE SIGN PROJECT Recently, the Stone Soup Communications team was selected to write and design five interpretive signs for the Chicago Portage National Historic Site. A collaboration between the Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor Commission, the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, and the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau, once completed, the new interpretive signs will introduce visitors to the site and its history, and provide connections between the canal and the cultural evolution of area peoples. |

CREATES NEW E-ZINE FOR INTERPRETERS The Stone Soup Storyteller, our new e-zine for interpreters, is now online! The free, quarterly publication strives to foster networking and communication between interpreters. Each
chapter of The Stone Soup Storyteller contains articles on a variety of
topics, an interview with someone associated with the interpretive field,
resources and departments wherein readers can find answers to their questions,
share their experience with colleagues, and gain a deeper appreciation
for the interpretive community of which they are a part. So as to best
meet the needs of interpreters, the content is ad-free and largely determined
by its readership.
